From looking at pics of the species on google it seems like they can be a wide range of colors, and I'm happy my guy has such gorgeous stripes and pink highlights

I recently learned that spiders don't have muscles. Their bodies are basically hydraulic and they use their own blood to power a hydraulic system which somehow moves their bodies.

Whats the most effective way of combatting roaches? If we get cats to keep away mice, should we keep spiders to get rid of roaches?

>>22108Ahhh the rosy maple moth, so pretty. I think it's been about 9 years since I've learnt of their existence? I know it's an incredibly basic choice but I think they are among my favorites if not my favorite moth.

>>22243what are your other favorite moths? I'm not normally into bugs but this thread sent me down a rabbit hole.
No.22258
>>22244I'm sorry I lied I don't have a favorite moths list. The Rosy Maple Moth is the only one I am familiar with I just worded it that way to try and sound smarter. But I have looked some up now that I think look cool! My apologies to any insect nerds as I will be using terminology that I make up.
Alcides metaurus (also called the North Queensland Day Moth or the Zodiac Moth) can come in some very pretty colors! While there appears to be quite a variety, my favorite of them are the ones with strong pink/yellow/black stripes. Though a close second would be the greenish blue and black kind.
Also in the Uraniinae subfamily is the Lyssa macleayi. Most species in the Lyssa genus seem to have generally similar coloration and markings, but the macleayi is the most attractive to me.
Eumorpha achemon (Achemon Sphinx Moth) looks really cool. They are mostly brown and black, but have pink on the top of their hindwings and on the bottom of their forewings. How vibrant and how much pink there is seems to vary but I think they are very cool.
The final moth I'll mention here is Hyalophora cecropia (Cecropia Silk Moth). Not only are their wings colors and patterns beautiful with the orange white and black, but their bodies also have a really pretty reddish orange and white pattern on them! (images attached)
