These are some pictures I took recently. I used a Rebel T3i with the kit lens. The tree pictured is very small, about the size of my torso, but I tried to make it look bigger.

I really like the third picture.

Trying to be constructive and not bulli here.

I'm not sure what you were going for. If you wanted the background in focus and the cactus blurred, that's a weird thing to take a picture of but if the chair is an important chair, then that makes sense.

If you wanted the cactus in focus and everything else blurred, the focus should be adjusted.

If you wanted everything in focus, you need to use a higher f.stop on your camera, but when you do that you'll need to either bump up the ISO (probably not a good idea because that introduces noise on digital images) or keep the shutter open for longer. Normally if you keep the shutter open longer, you need to worry about blur if anything is moving, but in a still shot like this it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

That's good advice, thankyou. I've had this 1100D sitting around for years and only used it to take pics of 40k minis so anything else is a completely new world. I was trying to get the cacti as the main focus, but obviously failed in that regard.

I know it's probably the most praise worthy shot but I took some pictures in a cave a while back. I liked these images. Caves are cool!

These are all delightful images.
I'm excited for this thread

Just realized the file size thanks for quick response!
This cave system spanned 2 miles in length and dipped over 400 feet underground.

Did you use the flash on these or did you have other lighting?
I know that bringing extra lighting equipment into caves is potentially extremely uncomfy, but it looks a little un-natural with light so clearly coming from one fixed point.

Other than that I like the cave pictures tho please post more, Sushi.

I only had one flashlight which eventually ran out so I had to use my phone. Most of these pictures are just flash with occasional dark spots filled in with my phone light.
This pic isn't really comfy but it was a neat part of the cave.

I love how smooth the lakes surface is. It emits calmness.

Not the sushiroll that you're replying to, and this isn't how he did it, but you could get a similar-ish effect on a less calm lake by using a really long shutter speed. You have to clamp your ISO or aperture way down to compensate for the additional light.

This sushi's metadata says that the shutter was open for 1/60th of a second, so that's probably actually how calm the lake was.

Original sushi reporting back. I took the picture while it was raining actually. before it started raining the water was like glass, shame I didn't catch it.
Anyway here's one more. I know sunsets are cliche but it was really orange.(No editing done)
