I have to change my brake fluid but am too scared of complications and rust making everything fall apart in my hands. Also I have no one to do it with, and the one-man method seems risky, brake system might suck some air in.

It's difficult for me to fit all of my battlestation into one photograph, since it's kind of a wraparound station (once you include my water bottles so that I can stay hydrated). Also the bright window makes it difficult to take properly exposed pictures, especially since much of my equipment is black-colored.
>>313I want to be like you. I have a server over in the corner of my room but it's loud and will probably get decommissioned when I move all my media to the machine in pics related.
I've been considering getting a different desk. I originally bought the one I'm using now b/c I was in highschool and figured that the school tables are made to take quite a beating, so one of those should serve perfectly fine for a desk. Besides being a little small, it was a good purchase, but I've got more computers than I can manage on just the one desk at this point.

No.738
>>737Does anyone here wish that they still only had one computer? I remember when I had a single computer and an old 1024x800CRT. I had slackware on there with some minimal package set. Flakey internet because I was stealing my neighbors phone line at the time ahha, but I remember finding some local BBS's and stuff and diling around. I got more work done and more code produced than I do on my current multi monitor multi cored workstation beast (>>727).
No.739
>>738I only have one shitty old laptop and I don't really need anything else.
No.740
>>738I kinda feel the same way too. I was a lot more productive when I was getting by with Pentium and Pentium II processors when everyone else had 2GHz+ Pentium 4 and Athlon XP processors. I spent a lot more time learning to use what I already had, and solving problems without having to use google for every little thing. I used to read a lot more books too. I guess I wasn't able to distract myself with internet videos and video games all the time, and my computer was too weak for divx tv shows, so if I wanted to watch something, I had to wait a week for that one hour it was aired on TV, instead of binge-watching it all in two days.
It is my own fault for being easily distracted anyways, tho I could make steps to limit myself. I've seen others cut the cord completely at home, and only using the internet at work or in their office.

>>740I personally haven’t owned a PC for about 7 months(posting this from my cell, my bst is the one with the omnikey plus and mega man mousepad). In that time I got a good job, made lots of friends, etc..
Definitely worth it, but I’m getting my new motherboard in the mail tomorrow(I got rid of my old one to discipline myself). So new picture soon lol.
The hardest part was finding ways to entertain myself at night, especially at this time of the year. I do own a Switch and 2 games, there’s tv(which is boring most of the time), and YouTube on the phone. But you start missing the desktop oriented chat programs, websites, yar har fiddlydee, and complex games after awhile. But none of that can replace a good book in the park, so I’ll try to keep that in perspective when I’m given back the keys.

I used to have a gaming PC. Built a really fast computer. Had a multi-monitor setup, lots of stuff around my desk, the works.
But I found that discouraged me from going out. Now, my battlestation is literally just a MacBook. I work on group programming projects with people on campus, or sometimes I work or study in the library or engineering building. It's much more liberating to move around instead of confining myself to a room. A room can feel like a prison.
Sure, a laptop is slower, not as upgradable, and more expensive for the same performance. No, I can't play games on it. But it encourages me to be more productive and social.
Just my two cents.
