Homemade tomato sauce! I’m jealous!
No.15134
>>15133well, i just gotta ask
is it really "homemade" tomato sauce if you use bought puree to make it? instead of mashing tomatoes one by one?
I mean, technically it's better than buying sauce from the store, but to claim it's "homemade" seems a bit of a stretch

>>15134Did OP ever insinuate that they used canned puree?Even if you start with whole tomatoes, is it really "homemade" if you buy the tomatoes instead of growing them yourself?
I think "homemade" should be considered a sort of sliding scale, rather than a binary yes or no. Like, I'd say that sauce made starting with tomato paste is still homemade, but sauce made starting with whole tomatoes is
more homemade.

>>15138To me if you add spices or vegetables or other stuff to the sauce it's homemade. Because the final product is different than what you started with, it was made in your home.

I made beef ragu for Valentine's Day. No finished photo because he ate it too fast. I'm very happy with it!

>>15152To respond to this, they are tortellini, yes. We don't call them like that here but same thing really.
Also, your plate looks crazy nice. What are those herbs in it? I can recognize onions, carrots, and mayhaps celery? But those two plants on top are a mystery to me

>>15325I generally like spaghetti the most. I just love wrapping the fork and getting a good bite.
Although Rotini noodles are a good second.
Speaking of which, I haven't had Rotini noodles in forever, I guess I know what to cook now. What you like your noodles with?
