I bought my Japanese textbook and workbook yesterday for uni. It was expensive, but getting away from the PC and being able to dig into something on paper helps.
I’ve self-studied the language for a good while, but the last thing I want to do is miss something important in the curriculum that will bite me in the ass later, so I’m starting with the first class. Hopefully as a result it’ll be a less stressful course that will start my GPA off on the right foot.

Bought a tent for two, but it's just for me. Store was out of one-person tents.

I found a translation of Diogenes Laërtios' Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers in my native language at the bookstore today. It was very surprising and appreciated.

>>12266I really loved invitation from a crab, but I went hunting for the other anthology and I couldn't find it anywhere. Is it in english as well? I was under the impression the second one getting an english release got delayed.
On topic, I recently purchased a nice little mini-ottoman cause I have a habit of putting my feet up at my desk, previously this was on my trash bin, which got somewhat broken due to this habit. The ottoman is much much more comfortable, but I don't think I'd have appreciated it as much if I wasn't a lazy bum who kept using a cold metal tube as a footrest for so long.

I nabbed a book about Saddam Hussein for 3 buckaroonies at a milsurp shop in some Harley Davidson town where boomers were hitting blunts outside the bar.

i know some people do carry a camera with them everywhere, but i think they live more interesting lives than me.

I'm getting into hydro farming and bought water testing pens and various chemicals for pH regulation and fertilization. There is a lot to learn and great potential for food production on limited space.
>>13099It's not life, choosing the motive for a worthwhile shot. The intention to take pictures with a dedicated device lets you see the world in a different light, like a skateboarder noticing good spots to shred or a sprayer pinning down their next canvas around town. I stopped taking a camera to hikes for example, because I just kept hunting for good pictures instead of enjoying nature.

I bought:
* a friends old laying unused camera, some csushi roll amateur grade dslr
* a bunch of old external drives, need to figure out a structure for it all
* first in a while actually well thought out b-day-gift for my sister, it's rad as heck
* some caffeinated chocolate
* some clothes from a surplus store (special catch mention: a pair of really cheap full leather boots)
* a portable stove
Most exited about the stove actually. Really need to get out more, and I'd feel more inspired for mini adventures out in nature if I'm also planning to cook a little something out there, or just brew up something hot and nice. Really lucky that I found it too. All the other ones are all bought up, lots of preppers vacuuming up all the survival type gear right now.
The camera is also exiting, just so much stuff to learn. Dense material to absorb, even if it's theoretically simple. Will add to get the pull into the forest though, practice taking photos out there.
Already planning my next little bag of shopping,
* board game (either-of; chess , shogi , backgammon) (anybody know which is easiest to play casually with friends?)
* deck of cards
* some books from my read-bucket

>>13598>board game (either-of; chess , shogi , backgammon) (anybody know which is easiest to play casually with friends?)For casual play backgammon. Chess and shogi can be fun if you're both really in to the game, but they are 100% strategy games and if there's a significant skill difference the better player will almost always win.

Also explains a situation with a friend lol, I always want to keep playing a game with him (I barely know the rules, only play for the simplest of funs), but he keeps being weird about it like I've been practicing in advance or something to pwn his butt.
