ITT we learn about exactly how stuff looks and capture the contours of interesting objects.

To start us off,
I have been doodling flowers for years in order to send unsolicited romantic inquiries on Valentine's day. I think flowers are very elegant and very challenging to capture. They have a lot of nuance to their shape, a good deal of variation from specimen to specimen, and nailing both perspective and lighting is key to making them "pop". They are a good challenge for the amateur sushisketchers. Here's some stuff I found about the main types of roses.
Hint: high centered hybrid tea roses are the most aesthetic and definitely the best for sending to women but most flowers have fans somewhere and a niche where they look appropriate.

To elaborate further on actually drawing rowse, it can be simple or complicated depending on the technique you use and the style you aim to achieve. My preferred style is somewhere in the middle of photorealism and impressionism, both because photorealism requires tons of patience and technique that I lack, and also because I think it doesn't always results in improved aesthetics and presentation. TBH excessive effort often results in a sketch that looks like an art student made it; proficient but soulless. And your hands are covered in charcoal.
Don't be afraid to have small imperfections, they add character to the piece :3
