Captchas didn't work. Sticking to janitors while we try to think of something else.

Which games do you think use this technology the best? Personally I think it's done the best in FOSS and Freeware games (Not free-2-play), as they're more likely to actually flesh out their use of generation to make something enjoyable, as well as give the player tools to manipulate their surroundings in some way.

I recently found out about noctis, a DOS space explorer written in C and assembly with some cool generation. It's not as detailed or powerful as what's available now, but it is quite relaxing to play.
I'm not sure if it is truly the "best" in utilization but I like that it is pure space exploration with pretty much no fluff mechanics. The simplicity, while a bit lame for today's standards, makes it pretty appealing imo. You just explore cool planets with enough effort needed to travel between planets to make even small discoveries feel significant.

I've actually been wanting to play Noctis for a while. I remember seeing it mentioned in a thread on a certain imageboard, and I was intrigued. But I then forgot about what site it was from, so thoroughly that I even forgot that I had bookmarked it. It looks just as cool as I remembered thinking it was.
I don't think simplicity is bad at all. If anything, I think more games need some of its fat trimmed off. I think having focused, if narrow set of mechanics is a good thing, though there is still charm in having complexity for the sake of properly simulating a real life task.

I only experienced procedural generation used in action RPGs with Diablo & Hades.
