However if you've not played since you were a kid it might be a little bit difficult to get into it because a bunch of new stuff has been added since then
But if you remember the basic rules then you should be good enough to start!

What I'd do instead is try to recreate a deck from your favorite cards that you sorta remember and then play against your friends or play the proper official PC games instead sicne those have tutorials and what not!

The kids who used to play Yu-Gi-Oh at my school always spent more time arguing about the rules than actually playing the game. Playing the game (where you can't break the rules) is probably a good shout

Most of the game nowdays is petty much just read the card effect instead of talking about the rules. It used to be quite entertaining for a while but the game is dying due to everyone using the same boring cards over and over and making it impossible to have fun in the latest formats. Pic related, the archetype that killed the meta.
