can we have a comfy indie rock thread? i've been in the mood for it recently, specifically punk rock-ish stuff.

emo/punk/math rock songs welcomed too

Are live videos OK?

probably not going to be turning any heads with this post because this band is pretty known but TTNG is really good, especially this song in particular.

This is an old comfy one for me. For some reason it calmed me and helped me sleep.

Posted this in another thread, but I think it fits~

I love this band to death, I just wish they had a different name, their current one makes their live videos near impossible to search for.

Bumping this old thread I made to showcase one of my favorite bands of all time. Brave Little Abacus is a band I used to listen to a lot in high school and I really love this song. I actually cried to it one time.

 No.922

Thanks for this thread sushis, I've really been loving this kind of music lately and you've posted a lot of bands to definitely check out.

Lately I got back into The World Is A Beautiful Place, who I always used to enjoy but somehow never kept any music or thought of them much. They're still really good

Perfect cozy winter album

 No.1815

i love this song and the soul eater imagery

 No.1822

this album is really interesting, sounds like a mix of TTNG and mellowed out the cabs but came out before a lot of them developed into that sound (2006 holy shit). Highly recommend if you like this sort of stuff. Might be one of the progenitors of staccato indie emo.

 No.1900

This is such an interesting band. Their sound infuses something akin to early 2000s post-hardcore, Dismemberment Plan-like atmospheric indie rock, and threw in a dash of Pinback mathy incense to aromatize the sound. Also has some nice IDM/Jungle sound going for it too. All blended together to make original sounding tunes with just the right amount of influence. I should check out their other albums.

 No.1931

This is band I am very fond of and have some nostalgia for. They are really great post-hardcore/emo outfit from the 90s that have a sound reminiscent of autumn leaves falling and gas cylinders exploding. They're pretty unique and iirc from the same city as Unwound. I definitely think Unwound took a few cues from them for their final album. The difference is, where Unwound sounds defeative and depressive on that record, this record is astoundingly triumphant and self-assured. Both are good albums, but nothing has quite blown me away like this album has in the realm of 90s post-hardcore. There's also quite a few songs on this album that sound like the blueprint for post-punk revival bands like the strokes and interpol. overall, a fantastic album I highly recommend.

YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THIS IS THE GREATES THING EVER MADE IN THE WORLD. EVEN ON THIS ALBUM ITSELF NOTHING MATCHES THE EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH QUALITY OF RADNESS CONTAINED WITHIN. I NOW LOVE JESUS GOD BIBLE AND MUST WORSHIP HIM OR WHATEVER AND STUFF

>I NOW LOVE JESUS GOD BIBLE AND MUST WORSHIP HIM OR WHATEVER AND STUFF
Was this part even necessary? Just reads off as needless derision and spite. This isn't the board for this.

These are both really beautiful. I love female driven punk/indie bands, I don't think females get enough credit for basically shaping a lot of the scene to be honest.
