First of all, I would like to mention that this idea is not mine. Such threads existed on 4chan's /mu/ since many years.
- submit a track with a name and it ends up in the album (to submit use
https://catbox.moe/ or any site from which I can download an audio file.)
- suggest an artist name, an album name and/or album art
Feel free to submit music even if you're a beginner, don't forget our goal is to have fun!
I'll make a bandcamp page and put the album there.
have fun! ^__^

This is such a good idea! The last time I tried to make music was in 8th grade when dubstep was the Cool Thing and it didn’t go too well but maybe I could try again, lol

I like ur thread op.
I've been playing guitar more again recently. I think I probably need to play with a metronome more, but anyway, what do sushies think of this?
https://files.catbox.moe/1z45cmI didn't know what I was doing at the end but I kinda like how it turned out in a way. I dont have a computer set up right now so it would be hard to do any mixing. But I might record some other versions playing around.
I'm excited to hear what other sushi rolls make <^w^>

If we got enough replies in here the thread could hit its bump limit. Has that even happened on sushi chan before? I think it's cool that some of my posts from years ago are still up, but I think like many sushi rolls, I'd love it if this place was just a bit more active. Not too active, just a bit more.

>>1434I'd be up for an IRC/discord server where we can discuss the music more in depth so that the thread doesn't become flooded. We can still share our progress here and also get other people to partake :)

>>1449I'm sorry u didn't get replies until now roll friend! I listened to your track when you posted it and was like this is cool, but it's pretty far from styles I normally listen to or make, so I didn't know how to leave any helpful criticism… listening to it again just now all i can say is… I really like it!

>>1449Awesome work sushi, reminds me a lot of some instrumental metal I listen to.
One thing you could consider is taking a bit more time for building up all the different layers of sound so it has more of an effect once it all comes together. But that's probably just my personal preference so make of that what you will :)
Keep it up

>>1453Thanks, and good suggestion. I think I tend to rush things, I'll keep that in mind for the future
>>1454Nice work! It's very hard and harsh but I happen to like that. If this is trash I'd love to hear your serious work, lol
One small suggestion, the high pitch part that starts at 22 seconds is a little too hard on the ears to the point that I turned my volume down a couple notches when it came in (listening with headphones). I have sensitive ears though so it might not be the same for other people.

>>1461Thank you. By "trash" I don't mean that I wasnt trying or something, I'm still fairly new. Also thanks for the suggestion, mabye I've destroyed my ears already.
No idea what it is but I really like that sound in the background of your track from 0:44~0:55 and in some other places.

Alright sushis, let's say the deadline for this first edition of /tunes/ makes an album will be August 1. Already made a bandcamp (

the drums could maybe give my ears a break somewhere in the middle, but i think im just not used to the genre
No.1502
>>1449sushi this is amazing, you study music theory? Only real criticism I can think of is that the drums sounded slightly out of place at times, nothing good mixing couldn't fix though. Good work!
No.1503
>>1502Thanks! I appreciate the feedback, listening to it now I do hear a couple spots where the drums could be switched up a bit. I also hear a bit of bad-sounding ducking of the percussion that I must have missed when mastering.
I don't really study music theory, instead I practice by making songs, lots and lots of songs. Music theory can be somewhat helpful but in my opinion it should never be the core of your practice but supplemental.
Incidentally, can one switch the audio of a song with a new file once it's already posted on bandcamp? I need to know if Aug 1 is the deadline for me to fix my track

I'm disappointed I couldn't find the time to participate this time. Hopefully next.
