Do you play browser games?
> MMO games, usually in real time (even when logged off), played in with your internet browser
and kinda addictive. I personally like strategy and economy games like Ogame a lot. If you spend several hours a day online anyways, these are a nice distraction, creating the illusion of being productive all the time. For example you start an upgrade in the evening and wake up just in time to begin the next one.

The positive aspect about it might be the adaption of a structured waking time, quite useful for slack folks like me.

Often you can find tools online for various simulations, converters or game play enhancements, but of course writing your own handy scripts is neat and with economy heavy games, even offering APIs, it is also inviting.

I just play regular client side games.
I don't see the point in browser games, they're just worse.
Only advantage is that it's small in memory space/use.

Used to play them a lot when I was a kid though. We used to take memory sticks loaded with flash games to school to avoid the website blocks.

>OGame
That brings me back, I played it like 6 years ago. It was fun while it lasted, but if you're not on your computer 24/7 then you get raid quickly. I also played solo flash games a lot, like those you find on newgrounds.

I started to code a client side text game recently using JQuery. For a game developer who sucks at drawing, it's a pretty good solution.

I think the last browser game I played was Kantai Collection. I used to play those nation-state browser games when I was younger with various video game clans I used to roll with back then, but I never really enjoyed it like they did. Kancolle is probably the most "fun" browser game I've played even though EVERYTHING basically boils down to pseudorandom number generation. It was an easy timesink without huge time investment.

 No.335

Do hentai flash games count? Well it's not like I play them often, but nostalgia fapping is the only kind I can enjoy anymore.

Unfortunately I can't find 90% of what I used to play, so I gotta play newer ones like the Zone KLK game.

If anyone knows where to find it, there was this game where you played an octopus going down on a loli in a one piece school swimsuit in her bath. COuld be a million games I kow, but I'd know it if I saw it.

oh.. and uh I think I used to dick around on Mafia Wars when that was a thing.

>>333
Is KanColle still worth playing for someone new?

Try searching for it on swfchan.

Yeah, I guess. The novelty of collecting your favorite botes is nice at first but wears off after a few weeks because it dawns on you that the game will not actually change in any meaningful way and will always be the same set of dice rolls seeing how far you can push your luck.

There is a thread on /lewd/. Please upload your treasures for other rolls to enjoy!

I hope flash games do count

This one is a personal favourite of mine, I've been posting it a lot on the internet. Story is okay but the characters are nice and develop over time, it also has best girl

https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/503833
This one has a really good atmosphere to it, the sequel is also pretty neat

https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/295040
Thing-Thing games always had that good amount of gore and violence no other game gives, I like that one for the music personally

https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/481559
Short but sweet

https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/422855
Shift games are also pretty good, I reccomend KOLM from the same developer

I'm currently replaying stuff before flash goes kaputt the end of this year so I may post something else as I go along

Damn, ogame. That's a blast from the past. I also tried travian, darkthrone, some vampires vs werewolves game and omerta (VERY little, like a day or two). Oh and project rockstar. Got really upset when I realized they reset the game after every season and dropped it, though.

I don't know how I know how but I don't want to talk about it, but this game physically destroyed me. It's not something that can be archived because apparently the .swf downloads the files from within and it's not a whole download, so this one seems to be a real goner.
I feel like I missed out on some great japanese flash games by the looks of it. If sushi knows some better post them.

Is there a full version of this somewhere? I can only do 3 levels and the wind tutorial.

I saw on the blog that the author got hired by cygames, so that's nice for him at least.

Kongregate and Armor Games are going to die, but most will still survive on swfchan. Plus guys at newgrounds seem to be developing something so it's not going to be all lost, just the ones that have a particularly different structure like the one I posted above and multiplayer flash games
>>1078
Nope, dev got busy with other stuff. Though I've read that it's being remade, I wouldn't put my hopes on it.

Yeah, for all the fanart and hype Material Sniper got it was always barely more than a demo. People have been saying UPDATE THIS YEAR for a decade. Still one of the better implementations of keyboard-and-mouse gunplay I've experienced, Flash game or not.
>>1079
Multiplayer flash games were a special experience, if you know what I mean. I had some good times with some of them but I don't know that it was worth it.

Has anyone played Attack On Titan Tribute Game? I used to have a lot of fun with it, can't get it to work on the original site anymore (http://fenglee.com/game/aog/) but thankfully there are downloads like https://attack-on-titan-tribute-game.en.softonic.com/ . There are loads of mods too which I haven't tried yet. It's a really fun game, you should play it!

I thought this game was gone for good. There's just something about this game, how your movement feels very intentional even if it takes a while to get used to. I really got to play this again.

 No.1121

definitely. there are two that i've been playing recently:

1. TETR.IO - a tetris stacker game with singleplayer modes, multiplayer modes, and ranked 1v1s. i absolutely love the look and feel of the whole game a lot(and the positive feedback in-game), and i quite like the soundtrack too. having the songs from the built-in calm playlist makes me relaxed while playing. this game released just this year and it's made by one person!

2. krunker.io - a shooter game with great movement mechanics that they don't teach you, as well as slightly forgiving aim (i think the hitboxes must be big, or it's lag comp) that makes you able to hit quick shots while moving so fast. there is also a ranked mode, and mod support. idk if this game is for everyone but it really resonates with me. there's basically nothing the devs ever add that i don't like, the game has had a steady stream of updates since i started playing and it's only gotten better.

these games both have official desktop clients too(and krunker has a few custom ones), but they both just open an electron browser and load the game site from there.

Note: Material Sniper still works on Flashpoint since it's downloaded, but due to the killswitch and the site calling back to another file hosted in a website, the soundtrack is no longer existent.
Will redownload flashpoint and see if this is just a problem of the software, since I did accidentally delete it before, even though the game ran normally when I used it back then.

Now that is odd, MS works with music using the standalone player outside of flashpoint, but not with music inside of it.
Also most flash games there just throw me a white screen, something is off.

I've played a good amount of pokemonshowdown. Competitive pokemon is very different from the games themselves.

Ah man I played a lot of Gen 4 and 5 competitive. I think it was on Shoddy battle or Pokemon Online back then though. Fun stuff. I still watch matches on occasion. The new meta is too much for me though, I only bared played SwSh and skipped SM totally, so my knowledge is lacking

Same, I used shoddy and pokemon online a lot as a teenager. I was so bad but damn did I have fun. People still play old gens on pokemon showdown so if you're in the mood it isn't hard to find games.
