There's probably a better place to post this, but does anyone have any tips on dealing with parents who treat you like a child? I mean, even as a child it was pretty bad, but now I'm an adult who's not allowed to cook food or ride the bus by himself (and as such doesn't know how to do anything and probably looks like a massive retard 24/7). My original plan was to escape by going to university, but now it looks like that won't happen for at least another year. I want to spend my life exploring the world, but in the meantime I'd like to at least have the freedom to exist in different locations than my house and theoretically be able to survive if they were to leave me alone for a week.

Start by doing stuff you're not allowed to do and see what happens.

Since you're a fellow sushi of superior kino no tabi taste, I'll try to help you as best as I can. Try to take on additional responsibilities and stick to them. Prove yourself to be reliable and consistently responsible. Start small by picking up chores around the house, and then slowly move onto more important tasks. Basically, you want to establish a precedent of maturity that starts to convince your parents that you are a responsible adult that can take on burdens, stick to schedules, organize properly, and do things for others without being prompted. When I was younger, I found that after doing this for a while, my parents would give me more freedom, because they knew that I could handle it, and that I needed it to get things done. If you do this, gradually over time, your parents will begin to see you more as an equal, rather a child to be safeguarded and watched.

Dude I've been been through what your talking about and quite frankly that's one of the shittyest things parents can do. I'll tell you exactly what to do, GET OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS YOU FUCKING CAN! Get a job, save up money, buy a car, and blow the fuck out of there. Walk, bike, ask for rides, do whatever you have to do. It will be a struggle, maybe your parents will make things even worse as they see you begin to pull away, put up with what ever shit they through at you and evacuate asap! Do it, fucking do it! This is day one, now get going!

Show your parents those trips. They'll never doubt your abilities again.

another idea; you could choose to stay a sonbasket and revel in your complacency.

>Not allowed to cook food
Make them breakfast. Eggs and hashbrowns/ pancakes
>ride the bus by himself
Go buy a greyhound ticket. I can go to the big city for 31 bucks. I have low funds though.

Sushi with no cooking experience tries to make eggs and hashbrowns. Burnt goop results.
>This is why we don't want you cooking!
